Nuremberg war crimes trials : collection, 1945-1969.

This collection contains 3 sets of bound volumes of court records, a set of original copies of transcripts from the individual cases, and original copies of the document books which contained documents entered in evidence. By far the biggest categories of materials are the transcripts and court documents. Also included are seperate series for the correspondences, 1945-1969, newspaper clippings, 1945-1969, commentary on the trial, 1946-1951, 1960, photographs, and Musmanno's personal writings. The first set of bound records, Trial of the major war criminals, v. I-XLII, is the official record of the first trial, The major war criminals. This set is missing v. XXIII, which appears to be the last of the trial proceedings. The 2d set of bound records, Trials of war criminals before the Nuernberg Military Tribunals, v. I-XV, include the proceedings of the 2d set of trials. Series IV contains original typescript transcripts and is the partial record of the secondary cases, and some selected portions of the final trials. Many of the transcripts are made up only of the indictment and opening and closing arguments. The full text of original transcripts for the entire Einsatzgruppen Case exits in bound volumes. Series VI is made up of clippings containing the trials and also scrapbooks, which are subseries 1 of this series. They contain a wealth of media information concerning the first major trial. Series VIII contains files on the manuscripts that Musmanno wrote, including The biggest murder trial in history, and The Nuremberg story. There is a complete rough draft of The biggest trial in history and a partial one of The Nuremberg story.
